How can the US be in the middle of a war, AND have unemployment on the rise?
Question: This has to be a first in my nation's history. Why is Bush STILL the President?
Answers: The simple reason is that we are not producing increased war supplies (the people). We are not under a draft and are not forced to produce for the war, unlike WWII and WWI. The government is simply buying weapons by reallocating federal funds instead of mandating that industry produce ammo/weapons. It's a way to subvert public attention from the war. There are also more complex reasons for the unemployment, such as cut public support funds (Medicare, employment agencies). The high overall price of fuel could also stop people from looking for a job. (Would you like to pay $150 every day to go to work!?!)
These are speculations, feel free to verify them.
That's to easy.........people are to lazy to get of off their A@#es and get a job! We fight for the people's freedom, and they take advantage off it. If you put a gun to a jobless person's head and told them to get a job, they would find one of the thousands of jobs that are out there with ease. It's not the jobs, it's the people. If they can't then maybe they should enlist in the military, go to war, then they would have no problem getting a job when they get out!
GAS? That's a poor excuse to not keep a job or find one. Move closer to the job! Walk to work an hour or 2 away. Do what you have to so you can provide for your family or yourself. Dont just sit there and feel sorry for yourself because your to lazy to get to work by any means necessary.

It's obvious that you are talking out of your A## and dont know about the real world (you just sit on your couch that you inherited from granpa and believe everything that you see on T.V.). Yes I think that unemployed are lazy ! I have been deployed, I have fought for my country. There are people in Iraq that would die so there family could come to the States, but here, there are people that would die if we cut off all unemployment checks. You dont see how that's wrong. I know, G, it hurts not having a job, but why are you complaining it looks like your getting a big enough check to keep your computer on.
Yes it's possible. Think about it, the price of gas alone keeps extremely impoverished people from being able to seek employment, and if they are employed, if they cannot get to work because of the price of gas they won't be employed for long.

See.....my argument always...we are all up in arms about immigration and we have a WAR....a real WAR going on AND we have generation after generation of welfare families exploiting the system.

They are ignoring the unemployment all together. The figures that they post are bogus, and the job market too. The turn over is just from the burger joints like McDonald's. They are not allowing any Americans to draw unemployment. It's at record highs where I live, right at 35% of our population are all fighting to find job's. The College graduates don't have any future, as they think, the job market is already flooded with people with better skills that have been working, with work experience. Joining the military was their plan all along of the Government. I look to see a draft soon over Iran and this Bush Administration.
