Do you feel well respresented by who you vote for in the government?
Question: each time you vote, and the person you chooses win. do you feel that he or she does the job correctly or even adequately? how or why?
Answers: Yes. I voted for GWB and am very happy with the job he is doing. Thank goodness he was in office on 9/11/2001.
I pray that another strong Republican wins the 2008 election, as this is our only way to stay strong in these times.
no. i'm not a big corporation & don't donate millions, so no one listens to what i have to say.
I feel that if I vote for John Howard.... I will be selling my soul. This man is only interested in one agenda. To support multi-national big business to line their pockets of gold. He could not give a hoot about the everyday Australian and is certainly proving that with WorkChoices. Workchoices will give all businesses the legal right to sack employees, lower wages of employees, and also just about every other entitlement will be eradicated. This is simply so that the big businesses can make more profit. Yes. Simple.
When ancient opinions and rules of life are taken away, the loss cannot possibly be estimated. From that moment we have no compass to govern us, nor can we know distinctly to what port to steer.
Edmund Burke
Government is actually the worst failure of civilized man. There has never been a really good one, and even those that are most tolerable are arbitrary, cruel, grasping and unintelligent.
H L Mencken
The state remains, as it was in the beginning, the common enemy of all well-disposed, industrious and decent men.
H L Mencken
The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office.
Henry Louis Mencken (1880- 1956)
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.
Henry Louis Mencken (1880- 1956 )
Beware the greedy hand of government, thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry.
Thomas Paine
We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debt, as we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our calling and our creeds… we will have no time to think, no means of calling our miss-managers to account, but we will be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow suffers… And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle in one instance becomes a precedent foe another… till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery… And the fore-horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in it’d train wretchedness and oppression.
Thomas Jefferson 1743-1826
A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicity.
Thomas Jefferson
When, and not until, the government works as Thomas Jefferson said it was to work, I'll never feel well represented!
if u expect so then u have wasted ur vote
