Can Republicans talk about "real" issues? Or just bash those who question them?

Question: For example, war, economy, immigration, civil rights. Seems like all they can do is bash the other side for questioning their lack of leadership in this Administration.
Answers: Of course they can't. they have to destroy the other persons character as a way of not dealing with the issue. What a bunch of idiots!
They would rather just be demagogues on terror.
seems to me you are talking about the democrats!!!!
simply said: no.
Of course, but only if the other guy is willing to listen and NOT bash in return. Both sides are guilty of bashing.

It is very difficult to carry on a discussion of the issues if the other guy doesn't really want to listen.

Both sides can be equally guilty.

Now, your question was a BASH!
Their position is undefendable. What else CAN they do?
It seems that democrats have no specific agenda on those subjects.
I've often had the same question about Democrats. When ever I want to talk about a current issue with a Democrat, it seems all they want to talk about is how much they hate Bush.
it's the same on both sides, all the dems can talk about is the lack of leadership as you call it. haven't heard them talking much about any kind of ideas of their own...
I hope you heard Cheney's comments this week about Lamont's primary victory in Connecticut (an al-Qaida victory). What a tool!
of course they can talk about real issues. it just depends what you refer to as the real ones..
Can damnocrats quit blaming President Bush for everything!! By the way where is the damnocrats agenda. All I hear is whining and crying from them and no solutions!!!! Goes both ways dude!!
Dude, you got it wrong. The Republicans are governing us, the Democraps are the ones whining and crying, name calling. Democraps have no plan or agenda. That's why they are Monday morning quarterbacks.
You have to realize the repuglicans happen to be the most mentally diminished of the population, they can only repeat what they hear from Faux news and Rush Limbaugh. They have no issue. Oh when it comes time for election there will be much talk about abortion and gay marriages two things that is really non issues but that is about as close as they will get.
Watch the news(real news, i.e. Fox News), it is not the Republicans keeping the focus on the administration, but other political parties who have done nothing and resent an administration that does.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Its kinda wrong to group all Republicans together (although my wife would disagree). Many republicans that don't get the spot light, do talk about real issues like the economy, immigration, health care, the war...etc....they just tend to have different opinions than Bush, and the Republican leadership.

The stance of the republican party on:

War...is that we're in it, therefor we need to finish it.
Economy...tax cuts benefit the economy through the trickle down effect
Civil Rights...most actually agree with democrats on this issue, its just not as far up on their agenda as it is with the Dems.
Immigration...They funded the fence and moved national gaurd troops to secure the border.

You might not agree with their solutions on the issues, but they do talk about them.

By the way, I'm registered as an independent, and I teach high school American Government.
They can`t win on these issues so we get gay marriage, flag burning, who blesses who and abortion which go both ways.
Democrats can't hear us when we talk about serious issues because they have their head in one of the orifices of either the UN or the EU..or busy giving aid and comfort to the enemy....
It is not in the best interests of the Great Leader to answer the niggling questions of the hoipaloi. Great One has far more important things to do. Legerdemain for instance. Oh, Look, It isn't that, it's something else! It isn't here, it's elsewhere . But, Mommy, it wasn't me that said... You must see it isn't Great Leaders fault. We are: a. just too uneducated to understand anyway b. would worry about our sad inability to choose for ourselves c. Should get on with daily life, and scrabble for our paycheck. d.....e....f.....r....q....xyz....and so on ad nauseum. Besides, you answered your own question!!!
Try asking a specific question, with no more preconceptions than those too strong for you. You will get answers from Republicans and from Republicans . Give it a try.
How do you think Bush got us into the war??? Democrats felt for it
They are poorly educated.
Republicans have talked about all those issues. Now if the Democrats would only find a reply other than 'don't question my patriotism' we could have a discussion.
They just bash those who are asking the questions as they are unable to defend their actions. The Republicans currently holding our country hostage and terrorizing us are totally different from the Republicans of 40 - 50 years ago.
As others have said, the bashing comes from both sides. I'm an Independent, but even though I disagree with some Republicans on here, I've been bashed MORE by the Democrats.
I tell ALL people who ask generalizing questions (ahem), or make hateful statements the same thing:
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
Some Republicans AND some Democrats are part of the problem, not just one or the other.
